Bring on the librarian-rock. There aren't enough pop songs written with a
slice of reference to Chekov - presumably because "it's inspired by the pre- revolutionary media and playwright" is the sort of answer that would cause Vernon Kay problems on T4. If anyone was going to pull it off, it would be Philadelphia's Inouk, who clearly know their way around the library. If you know any librarians, you'll realise that working in a trade that marshals the twin powers of fiction and fact gives you the sort of quiet sexiness that comes with knowing the answer to everything lies just within your reach. Sounding like an offspring of The Go-Betweens and Talking Heads, Inouk have made equally good use of the Record Library. Professionalism doesn't always have to mean workmanlike. |
